Lively, fun after-school creative writing workshops for primary school children. Workshops are face-to-face at Fort Street Public School. New creative writing tasks every week. Fort Street PS students only.

Monday Afternoons

Years 1-3 from 3.05 to 4.00pm
Years 2-6 from 4.05 to 5.00pm

Term 3, 2026 workshops commence Monday 27th July.

This workshop will be conducted by Emily Chan and Emily Davis.

Emily Chan is currently completing a double degree Bachelor of Arts (creative writing major) / Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Macquarie University. When she was in primary school, Emily attended The Writing Workshop at Eastwood PS, and is the first person to have attended The Writing Workshop all the way through from Year 1 to Year 12 without missing a term. She is an Editorial Assistant for Grapeshot magazine and contributes fiction, poetry and variegated pieces to the magazine.

Emily Davis is studying a double degree in Journalism and Law at the University of Technology Sydney. She began her journey with The Writing Workshop as a student in Year 3, participating in the classes into Year 12. Emily has completed the NaNoWriMo challenge and has won the Sarah Brennan Writing Competition twice.
